Trusting God's Perfect Timing in Seasons of Waiting

May 17, 2026    Nick Seders

This powerful message invites us to wrestle with one of faith's most challenging realities: waiting on God's perfect timing. Drawing from the historical context of Jesus' ministry during the Roman Empire, we discover that God's timing wasn't accidental but intentionally orchestrated. Roads connected distant lands, a common language enabled communication, and the gospel spread from Jerusalem to the known world within a single generation. This historical reality challenges us to trust that God's timing in our own lives is equally intentional. The sermon weaves together Ecclesiastes 7 and Romans 5 and 8 to reveal a transformative truth: the seasons of waiting aren't detours from God's plan but essential parts of the route. These difficult days, these moments of adversity, these periods of unanswered prayers are all appointed by the same good God who gives us days of prosperity. What's remarkable is what God develops in us during the wait: perseverance that refuses to quit, character that reflects His image, and hope that's rooted so deeply in His faithfulness that it becomes nearly impossible to kill. We're challenged to stop returning God's work to Him like a teacher correcting papers, suggesting improvements in gentle purple ink. Instead, we're called to embrace the reality that His work is always submitted in perfection, even when we can't see it or understand it.
