Week 2 "At Home" Sermon Series | "Welcoming Jesus Into Our Homes and Lives"

Oct 5, 2025    Nick Seders

Thanks for joining us! This is the sermon portion of our livestream Sunday morning service.

In this powerful exploration of Jesus' encounter with Zacchaeus, we're challenged to consider how welcoming we truly are to Christ in our personal lives. The story from Luke 19 serves as a mirror, reflecting our own relationship with Jesus. Are we, like Zacchaeus, eager to welcome Him into our homes - the most intimate spaces of our lives? This message urges us to move beyond superficial faith and allow Jesus full access to every aspect of our being. It's a call to radical hospitality, where we not only acknowledge Jesus as a guest but enthrone Him as Lord over our daily routines, decisions, and priorities. As we contemplate this, we're invited to experience the transformative power of Christ's presence, just as Zacchaeus did. His life was dramatically changed from greed to generosity, from dishonesty to restitution. This narrative compels us to ask: If Jesus knocked on our door today, how would we respond? What areas of our lives might He want to transform? It's an invitation to deeper intimacy with Christ and a more authentic expression of our faith.

Scriptures: Luke 19:1-10, Deuteronomy 6, John 10:3
